TAFE Outreach programs are closely aligned to the Federal Social Inclusion Agenda ensuring NSW education is accessible to people who face barriers to learning including geographical and social isolation, language and cultural factors, financial hardship, lack of educational confidence, being unaware of opportunities to learn, a disability or family commitments.

Social Inclusion Outcomes

When people are lacking in certain resources, opportunities and/or capabilities so that they are unable to participate in learning, working or engaging activities and are unable to influence the decisions affecting them, they can experience social exclusion.

Learn, by participating in education and training
The students have learned in a classroom setting and then created or linked to opportunities that assist them to utilise the skills in a work environment
Work, by participating in employment or voluntary work, including family and carer responsibilities
The students linked to the Food 4 Life food outlet so that they could work on a voluntary basis to use their learned skills
Engage, by connecting with people, using local services and participating in local civic, cultural and recreational activities
The students began to involve themselves in local committees that assisted with improving their living situation and one outcome is the production of a local estate newspaper
Have a voice, in influencing decisions that affect them
Students have been involved on committees with police, on interagencies and on health committees to implement changes in their local neighbourhood
